Municipal Lift Station Upgrade
An aging municipal lift station required emergency intervention and modernization to prevent sewage backups affecting a residential neighborhood.
The Situation
The municipality's lift station was over 25 years old with original equipment that had become increasingly unreliable. Backup events were becoming more frequent, creating public health concerns and generating complaints from residents. The existing pumps were difficult to service due to discontinued parts.
What We Did
Flow Dynamics worked with municipal engineers to design an upgrade path that could be implemented in phases to minimize service disruption. We replaced the primary pumps with modern, high-efficiency units that offer better reliability and easier serviceability. The control panel was updated with modern monitoring capabilities.
Result
The upgraded lift station has been performing reliably since completion. The municipality now has remote monitoring capability and has established a preventive maintenance schedule with Flow Dynamics to ensure long-term reliability. Response time for any issues has been significantly reduced.
